The Wildlife Ecology, Restoration, and Conservation (WERC) Lab at Virginia Tech partners with state and federal agencies as well as NGO and community-based organizations to identify key conservation concerns. The WERC Lab then uses movement, remotely sensed, molecular, isotopic, endocrine, and field data to generate new knowledge, both basic and applied, to help its partners address their concerns. Although there are some dominant themes in the lab (please visit the research tab to learn more), we allow the questions at hand to dictate the concepts and techniques used to solve ecological mysteries and conservation problems.
